March 2017 Income…$0.98
You read that number correctly, the decimal was put in the correct place and everything.
The income my blog brought in for the month of March 2017 was less than a dollar. Go me! This dollar (I’m just going to round up for simplicity sake) was totally made through Goggle AdSense. I’m not sure how to works but I think all my page views were just from me checking to make sure my page looked alright after making a design change. But no matter how I made it, I’m very excited by some income of any sort! Everyone starts somewhere and my start is at $0.98.
This first income report is the third month of this blog’s life. Military to Million was started on January 1, 2017. Because of this, the March income report doesn’t show the investment of start-up cost, only the cost associated with the month of March. At the end of the year, I will have the 2017 Income report that will include all start-up costs. I’m doing this mainly because I’m not sure what my full start-up costs are at the moment and I’d rather the post not show negative a few hundred dollars. That would be depressing for me and you.
So here we go, income report for my first kind-of-live-blog month:
Total Income $0.98
- Google AdSense: $0.98
Total Expenses: $29.40
- Convert Kit: $29.00
- Etsy Listing Fees: $0.40
Net Income: -$28.42
I have to admit I’m not overly happy about a negative number but I’m still so excited about the positive that I don’t really care!
- Pinterest: 35
- Facebook Fans: 61
- Facebook Group: 10
- Instagram: 106
Goals Next Month
- Break even! This means I need a growth of about 2,900%
- Get 10 e-mail subscribers
- Page views over 1,500
- Make a better income report!
As you can tell in oh so many ways, this is my blogging first income report. I have no lessons to share or wisdom to impart. I’m so new to all this myself that I feel a little silly being so excited for income of less than a dollar. All the hard work I’ve put into the blog comes from the quote
You gain courage and confidence from doing the things you think you cannot do ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
I read it, and reread it whenever I start to tell myself “you can’t do that” or “other people do those things”. Now I realize that it is like when I started investing, sure I was intimidated at first and thought “oh not me” but slowly I gained knowledge and confidence. Having them gave me the courage to continue.
